Great price for a great peice of equipment May 12, 2010 L. Seabolt (Westminster, CO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have realized that my eyes have been getting steadily worse over the past year. I paint miniatures as a hobby/business and it was time to get some help that reading glasses could not fix. I tried cheaper versions of magnifying lenses I got at Harbor Freight, but the distortion of the plastic lenses made them unusable after about 10 minutes, I'd get a terrible head ache.
I tried local businesses who either stocked cheaper plastic versions or had only one diopter size. Not only was Amazon cheaper (Especially with the 25 dollar free shipping) I could get the diopter/ work distance size I needed.
Pretty Sufficient for use and price April 23, 2010 Grandeson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pretty good item. Purchased the 2.5x magnification, which has a focal length of 8". So far so good, but I do wish the focal length was a little further as I dont think you can even get the full 8" away. Fairly comfortable. At this focal length you almost should have a built in light since you're so close. But, I do like the item and have no regrets of buying it. Thought adding the light will bring the price up quite a bit. Feels like quality construction as well.
Not just for hobbyists. A boon to the visually challenged. February 25, 2010 Alan Rosenlicht (San Francisco, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Over the past couple of years, as my eyesight has gone downhill, I've acquired a half dozen different sorts of magnifiers for reading. This puppy costs more than the others, but really makes reading a breeze. Some handheld magnifiers offer the advantage of built in lighting, but none outperform the combination of this visor accompanied by light from any other source. Since you're wearing the visor, it doesn't block what you're trying to read by casting a shadow on the page.Nothing works better for me.
Best overall January 21, 2010 Robert J. Crowley (Sudbury, MA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These are everywhere and can be found at low prices if you look around, which you should because these are the most form-fitting, all-day wearable magnifiers of the bunch. Not fancy, not a lot of features, and not much weight, which is very important if you plan on actually using this type of head worn magnifier for extended periods. The lens material is very scratch resistant, easy to clean, and clear. The adjustable headband is simple and not fancy at all, but it conforms to your head, unlike the very uncomfortable B&Ls, which I also have.
I bought my last pair of these for less than I see here on Amazon, where I think they are priced a little high. Even so, these are the ones to get, because the design is superior.

This optivison headband is the ideal for hobbyist to inspection work on circuit boards trouble shooting. I would recommend this to both female and males that want to get it right the first time. What you see and both hands are free to work.
